Stand Up Paddling Yoga Retreat, Algonquin Park
Sept 14-16 2012
Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) is a fun, easy way to play on the water. Since you’re standing at your full height, you’ll enjoy excellent views of everything from Algonquin Park wildlife to what’s on the horizon. It’s like walking on water! We’ll learn basic paddleboarding technique, then we’ll take your yoga off the mat and introduce you to yoga practices designed for the board. The paddle board makes quite a stable yoga mat and the extra balance required by being on the water intensifies the yoga routine. The peacefulness of floating on the water combines nicely with the meditative nature of yoga and is full of laughs with a very Zen quality to it. Yoga is all about going with the flow and so is standup paddling. Standup paddle boards are really stable. This retreat is excellent for beginners!
Our retreat is based at a gorgeous ecolodge in the Algonquin wilderness, just 2 hours north of Toronto. There will also be free time where you can kayak or canoe around the lake, hike in the forests, walk the labyrinth or relax and enjoy the natural solitude.

Hiking and canoeing through this spectacular alpine wilderness, our journey will be infused with yoga practice exploring playfulness, courage, patience, acceptance, stillness, freedom, will power and celebration through kriyas, asanas and and meditations, led by yoga teacher Caroline Owen.
Our retreat is based in a camp beautifully situated in remote alpine wilderness with access to a solid trail network. Our journey will continue overland into the wild and beautifully lush Bella Coola Valley on the edge of the Great Bear Rainforest. The coastal mountains, river valleys and dense forests provide an unparalleled sanctuary for nature, providing opportunities of intimate wildlife encounters amidst utterly breathtaking natural splendour. The alpine trails in this area are numerous and the scenery dramatic. In this valley you will see jaw-dropping waterfalls, ancient rock carvings, and a vast range of mountains still to be explored. The temperate rainforest covering the lower slopes and valleys is one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet, rivaling even that of the Amazon rainforest.

Bay of Fundy Wild Yoga Retreat
Aug 9-15 2012
Join a group of sister Wild Women Yoginis for a Wild Yoga Retreat in the destination declared one of the Top 10 Natural Wonders of the World.
Renowned for the world’s largest tides, Fundy is also coveted one of the last wild coastlines in Eastern North America. We will explore this eco-adventure paradise through phenomenal hiking, beach combing, sea kayaking, and biking. Marvel at Fundy’s multi-coloured capes and headlands, as well as its giant tides; peruse vast tidal flats, salt marshes and seaside cliffs; ramble its rolling highlands and deep river valleys.
By kayak, we can play around sea stacks and in caves at high tide, exploring the longest uninhabited coastline in Eastern Canada – the UNESCO Bay of Fundy Biosphere Reserve. Fundy National Park offers a variety of hiking trails- 100 km in all. We shall approach the best coastal vistas and secret waterfalls on foot by remote path. We shall fill our lungs with sea air, biking either Irving Nature Park or the Fundy Trail: both offer stunning views of the Bay. By day we adventure, by night we relax in a house by the sea.
Led by yoga teacher April Hope, this unique retreat will be an invigorating and rejuvenating week to integrate the body, mind and spirit infused with the powers of Earth, Air, Fire and Water in this energizing destination.
